The match was far from being exciting. Wisła was cautious, but Zagłębie failed to take advantage of this defensive play. Within 90 minutes, Wisła had two perfect goal-scoring opportunities, but could not convert any of them into goals. In 17th minute, Tomas Jirsak had a one-on-one situation with Mateusz Prus. The Czech midfielder tried to lob the goalkeeper from Zagłębie, but the ball missed the goal post. After the break, in 56th minute, Arkadiusz Głowacki headed the ball and hit against the post. The ball went back to the field.

The host team created a few interesting moments, but Mariusz Pawełek and Marcin Juszczyk (in the second half) were both unbeatable. In 74th minute, Krzysztof Myśliwy wittily hammered the ball from outside the penalty area, but Juszczyk diverted the ball from going into the net.

The Wisła footballers showed some pretty moves, but still lacked the final ball. The Polish Champions would possess the ball for a few minutes, but did not even finish the job with a shot towards the goal.

In 71st  minute, Maciej Skorża substituted seven players. Young footballers appeared on the pitch, including Maciej Papież and Kamil Rado. The Wisła team also featured Oleksiy Babyr, a new striker from Ukraine, but he did not distinguish himself with anything special.
