Śląsk kicked the game off and quickly went on the attack. In the 3rd minute, Janusz Gancarczyk hit the woodwork with a long-distance shot. Soon the pace dropped and Wisła set to attack and get forward.  It won the first goal in the 27th minute. Marek Zieńczuk took the ball from Tadeusz Socha on the left, then sent the ball to the second post, and Radosław Sobolewski hammered the ball into the net with a beautiful volley.

The second half brought no surprises. Wisła was still pressing to win the second goal, entering the halftime with a 1:0 lead.  In the 66th minute, Piotr Ćwielong sent the ball in the centre field to Marek Zieńczuk, but the Wisła defender missed. Two minutes later, Sebastian Dudek was close to scoring an equalizer, but hit the woodwork in a one-against-one situation.

A quarter before the end of the second half, the White Star players gained momentum. Brożek, Małecki, Ćwielong and Zieńczuk missed their goal-scoring opportunities. Finally, Marek Zieńczuk scored the second goal in the 82nd minute. A minute later, „Zień” who played his last match for Wisła, was substituted by Tomas Jirsak.

In extra time, Tomasz Szewczuk again hit the crossbar and a few seconds later Hubert Siejewicz, the referee, finished the game, and the Wisła players were free to celebrate their well-deserved Championship!
