The game began very badly for Wisła. At the 3rd minute the White Star lost a goal. Following a pass to the centre after a throw in, Cigirlaż sent the ball into the net. Wisła however quickly showed that the lost goal was only a hiccup while doing the job. At the14th minute when Piotr Brożek, joining the attack, directed a very good ball to the far post, where closing the attack, Małecki then put the ball into the net with a slide. At the 33rd minute “Pietia” contributed to another goal. This time after his free kick the ball passed the wall, and the surprised Kowal only knocked it onto the post. Against the rebound shot of Głowacki he was helpless.

In the second half Wisła did not have such a marked advantage. Yet it seemed that the White Star would retain the lead till the end. The Metalurh attacks were broken by the Wisła defensive block in exemplary style. This block crumbled however in the 84th minute, when Marcelo was punished with a red card. Three minutes had not passed before the Wisła lead was changed to 3:2 to the team from Zaporizhya. The Ukrainian goals were scored by Pisotskij, whose shot into the far corner left no chance to Juszczyk, and Kaskow, who exploited a very good pass from the right side. So instead of calmly carrying the lead to end, Wisła lost the match with Metalurh.
