Wisła draws the inauguration match
Data publikacji: 20-09-2010 12:20Over 17,500 viewers attended the first match at the new stadium in Krakow. The White Star went from a 2:1 lead to a 2:2 tie against Korona Kielce.

The inauguration encounter at the R22 Stadium was two different games: the first half was dominated by Wisła, and the second half belonged to Korona Kielce. Wisła was leading twice, but both times Korona came to an equalizing goal.
It took 44 minutes to score the first goal. Paweł Brożek met a cross of Andres Rios from the left and easily put the ball into the net. Korona responded with an equalizer soon after the break. Vlastimir Jovanović was fouled close to the penalty area, Korona Kielce was awarded a free kick and Aleksandar Vuković made it into a goal. From then on, Korona Kielce performed admirably, and Wisła footballers seemed somewhat lost and tense.
Nevertheless, the White Star fans once again cheered in the 72nd minute. Cezary Wilk, a former Korona Kielce footballer, made a follow-up shot after Paweł Brożek’s attempt on goal was blocked. The tide has turned – the host team took the initiative and played some confident football. Wisła appeared to be waiting for another scoring opportunity when Korona grabbed yet another equalizer. Andrzej Niedzielan spotted a gap in the defence and scored his seventh goal this season after receiving a pass by Jacek Markiewicz from the right and heading the ball into the goal net.
In the first match at the R22 Stadium after a 15-month break, Wisła Kraków and Korona Kielce split points after a draw.
