The teams were pretty equal at the beginning of the first half, but the host team was soon pressing forward in the offensive and kept on attacking. The first golden opportunity came in the 20th minute after the mistake of Erik Cikos. Ruch Chorzów picked up the ball close to Wisła’s goal and Gabor Straka stormed into the penalty area, but Mariusz Pawełek was able to make a comfortable save. Ruch Chorzów was awarded a corner kick, and a few seconds later Krzysztof Nykiel headed the ball into the net. Mariusz Pawełek and Junior Diaz, both standing next to the goal line, somehow failed to clear the ball from the goal line. Ten minutes later Ruch Chorzów took advantage of Wisła’s mistakes in the defence and scored another goal. Gabor Straka sent a long shot into the goal next to Mariusz Pawełek.

Despite 2:0 lead, Ruch Chorzów continued to press, but could not find the same amount of accuracy. Otherwise, the final result would be 3:0 or even 4:0. In the second half, Ruch Chorzów continued to control the game, and Wisła Kraków did not make up for the goals they have lost.
