From the beginning of the game vast superiority of the White Star was visible. The hosts had problems leaving their own half of the pitch, and their smooth actions were practically limited to the one strike by Fertovs in the 45. minute.  “Wisła" scored in the 40. minute. Melikson very well spotted Lamey, fleeing on the right side, passed the ball to him sideways, and the Dutchman neatly played into the penalty area. There unluckily intervened Rode, who put the ball in his own net. It was a narrow escape when the same player would have scored an own goal again early in the second half. Moments later, Melikson and Ilieva exchanges some neat passes, but lacked an effective last play into the penalty area. This phase of the game ended with a volley shot by Patryk Małecki saved by the Skonto goalkeeper.

In the last 30 minutes the hosts started to create opportunities under Wisła's goal. When it seemed that the last minutes will see the hosts storming in the quest for a draw, experienced Laizans was punished with a second yellow card and Wisła regained their breath. Despite playing with a man short, Skonto had the best scoring opportunity of the match in 89. minute, but Blanks did not take advantage of his one-on-one situation.
