Before the match this Saturday, Wisła Kraków and Jagiellonia Białystok were the only teams in the Polish Ekstraklasa which won each single match so far. Although Jagiellonia Białystok lost no match this season, the team of Michał Probierz was ranked 14th with 0 points collected, as it was awarded 10 penalty points.

Wisła Kraków entirely controlled the situation throughout the first half. Wisła scored the first goal in 21. minute after a howler by Jagiellonia. Junior Diaz took advantage of some hesitant defending in the penalty area and shot the ball effortlessly to an empty goal. The second goal for Wisła was stored only 10 minutes later. Paweł Brożek defeated Rafał Gikiewicz, Jagiellonia’s goalkeeper, with a low shot from outside the penalty area.

Wisła continued to dictate the conditions of the game in the second half.  Wisła footballers controlled the game, and Jagiellonia scored the only goal only 8 minutes before the final whistle. Remigiusz Jezierski shot against the post from a penalty area boundary line, the ball tipped from the back of the goalkeeper and passed the goal line. The final minutes were nerve wrecking. In extra time, Pavol Stano was in an excellent position to score an equalizer - his shot passed the post by inches.
