The start of the game belonged to the charges of trainer Kafarski, as early as the 45th second they took the lead. Łukasz Burliga did not kick the ball far enough from the penalty area. He was overcome by the speed of Łukasz Surma, who took the ball and then defeated Mariusz Pawełek with a powerful shot from about 20 metres. Scarcely 9 minutes later and Lechia rejoiced at the next goal. Lukjanovs passed to Dawidowski, who ran in from the left side to the Wisła penalty area and directed the ball over Pawełek. Issa Ba attempted to rescue the situation, and managed to kick out the football heading towards the goal so that it bounced off the crossbar, but it struck Piotr Brożek and landed in the net.

In the 22nd minute hope of recovering lost ground returned when Małecki, turned a penalty kick awarded because of a foul on Boguski, into a goal. However in the 37th minute the Lechia players finished the job by scoring a third goal. Lukjanovs conducted a solo attack, running in from the right side behind the backs of the Wisła defenders and sent the ball into the net beside Pawełek.

In the second half Paweł Brożek and Krzysztof Mączyński joined the Wisła team, but even these changes brought no benefits. The home side endeavoured to win access to the goal; yet again it was doomed to ineffectiveness.
