Thanks to strong pressing from the very beginning of the game, the Romanian team was able to start their attacks from Wisła’s side of the pitch. Rapid was successfully hindering Wisła’s play, and at the same time was creating dangerous attacks from the very first minutes of the game. Having the upper hand, the team from Bucharest scored their first goal in the 12th minute. Having received a nice pass to the penalty area, Roman skilfully played the ball back to Grigorie, who was approaching the 16th metre. A powerful shot shattered Pareiko’s chance at a clean sheet.

It was not until about the 25th minute, when Wisła finally began to tackle the aggressive opponent. The White Star started to venture into the opposing team’s penalty area - a task that proved too difficult during the first minutes of the match. Despite their efforts, in the last minute before the half-time whistle the team from Kraków were loosing by two. Having received a long ball, Roman shoved Jovanović back and took advantage of a one-on-one situation.

The second half of the match was tight, with many wasted goal scoring opportunities by Wisła. Whereas Genkov’s shot from a sharp angle in the 46th minute might have been an easy save for Coman, the other three attempts at goal should have been goals. With each shot taken from a better position than the last one, Wisła still failed to defeat Rapid’s goalkeeper even once.
