The first defeat
Data publikacji: 19-10-2009 15:44In the much awaited match of the 10th round of the Polish Ekstraklasa, Wisła Kraków lost its first game this season. The White Stat was defeated by Lech Poznań, who won after the goal by Robert Lewandowski (60").

The first half was a festival of lost chances. Both teams created many clear-cut goal-scoring opportunities, but were remarkably ineffective. Peszko from Lech Poznań failed to hit an empty goal, and Wisła footballers lost three one on one duels with Jasmin Buric.
The second half began with another lost opportunity for Wisła. Małecki made a free kick to Głowacki, who headed the ball towards the goal and missed just wide. Just after a few minutes, another Wisła player, Paweł Brożek, wasted another one on one with the goalkeeper.
Lewandowski was the only player who succeeded to score the goal. Stilic sent a parallel pass to Lewandowski and put the ball in the back of the net after a duel with Pawełek. There were still 30 minutes left, but Wisła failed to break through the defence of Lech Poznań. At one point Marcelo was moved on to a striker position, but Lech Poznań was still much more dangerous on the counter-attack. “Kolejorz” is the first team this season to defeat Wisła.
