Both goals were scored in the second half of match, but the first dangerous harbingers appeared on the side of Aalesunds much earlier, which could have culminated in a goal. Wisła also had a chance; however, Małecki, Łobodziński or Kirm were unable to defeat the goalkeeper of the Norwegian team.

The two unused occasions took their toll later. In the 58. minute, after a free kick by Michael Barrantes, Arnefjord, who came to turf at the end of the first half, barely brushed the ball, which fell into the net taking Jovanić completely by surprise. Three minutes later, the best occasion to get a tie in the match was wasted by Wojciech Łobodziński. Andres Rios took the ball over in the penalty field of Norwegians and played it to the halfback in the goal field, who hit the goalkeeper of the rivals instead of scoring the goal.

Four minutes before the final whistle, in the Wisła’s penalty field, one of the Aalesunds footballers was fouled on. The referee ordered the 11 m, but the kick performed by Herrera was defended by Milan Jovanić. Exactly four minutes later, Herrera rehabilitated himself by finishing the action of his team with the straight kick on the ground.
