Ruch takes two-goal advantage
Data publikacji: 04-04-2012 16:36In the first game of the Puchar Polski semi-finals, Ruch Chorzów managed to gain a two-goal lead for the rematch at Wisła's stadium. Even though Wisła's goal at the beginning of Tuesday's game brought the result to a very favourable 1:1, Marek Zieńczuk's execution of two free kicks gave his team a very solid advantage for the rematch in Kraków.

Though Wisła's performance was better compared to the previous league match against Ruch, it was not flawless. It took the team from Chorzów only one shot to gain the upper hand. Piech received a pass from the back of the pitch and used Diaz's moment of inattention to gain a clear position and defeat Pareiko with a precise shot. The second half began extremely favourably for the visitors. Five minutes into the game the score was already 1:1. Genkov received a pass from Iliev on the right side and scored with a header.
The White Star was on its way to a favourable result in Chorzów, but was stopped by Marek Zieńczuk's excellent free kick passes. First, Szyndrowski scored with a header from a free kick cross-in. Moments later, Zieńczuk made another free kick pass. After this set piece, Jaliens tackled Grodzicki inside the penalty box. Abbott successfully executed the resulting penalty shot.
