The score after half time was 1:0 in favour of the home team, although this advantage could have been even higher. Right midfielder, Demetris Christofi, caused the most trouble to Wisła defenders. Alves and Aguiar also proved dangerous. In the 19th minute, after a pass from Aguiar, Alves was one on one with Pareiko. The attacker shot three times, but the Estonian goalkeeper stopped all three attempts.

What was impossible in the 19th minute, the team from Cyprus managed ten minutes later. Although Omonia attacked mainly from the right side, it was Margaça's play from the left side that brought the goal. The player was tackled inside the penalty box by Piwowarczyk. The team was awarded a penalty kick and Alves slotted the ball in.

Wisła's best shot at a goal came in the 23rd minute, but just like Sergei Pareiko on Wisła's side, Leoni denied Gordan Bunoza's shot aimed below the crossbar and Iliev's strong follow up.

The second half was goalless. Omonia defended wisely and attacked regularly, drawing the ball away from its penalty box, but was unable to create good goalscoring opportunities. Wisła was unable to find an effective strategy against the opposing team and ultimately lost.
