„My heart belongs to Wisła”

The fans of Wisła Kraków are truly exceptional. Paweł Kękuś, a poet, devoted his latest volume of poems “Oddałem serce mej Wisełce” (My heart belongs to Wisła) to the White Star.

Paweł Kękuś is 32 years old. His life took a turn 11 years ago. One evening he was brutally attacked by a group of hooligans. He was beaten into a coma. He woke up after a few weeks. Paweł could not see, hear, move or speak. Despite his condition, he never gave up. With the help of his mother, Jadwiga Kękuś, and a group of physical therapists, he has been slowly returning back to normal. After a few years, his sight and speaking abilities began to recover, he took his first steps.

He has been a devoted supported of Wisła for all his life, even after the tragic moments 11 years ago. „I went to my first Wisła Kraków match when I was only 5. Wisła was playing against GKS Katowice. My dad took me with him” – explains Paweł.

Paweł is a fan and a poet. It all started in the year 2000, when he won a radio contest for the best summer memories in rhymed verse. He began composing poems. He published two volumes: „Wodospady miłości” (Waterfalls of Love) and „Horyzont marzeń” („Horizon of Dreams). His latest poems are devoted to Wisła, its players, couches and supporters. The volume of poems is entitled „Oddałem serce mej Wisełce” (My heart belongs to Wisła).

The book is available at the official store of Wisła Kraków („Wiślacki Świat”). The price is 12 PLN, which is the number of championship titles of Wisła Kraków.
