Melikson has signed with Wisła

Israeli midfielder Maor Melikson, previously in Hapoel Be'er Szeva, has joined the team.

Melikson is a 26-year-old attacking midfielder. He was born on 30th October 1984 in Yavne, Israel. He started his football career in his home town club – Maccabi Yavne. Then he played for Beitar Jerusalem, a team well known to the White Star because of the 2008 Champions League qualifications. However, during the qualifications, Melikson was no longer a member of Bietar. In 2006, he moved to the the Israeli champion – Maccabi Haifa. His next stop was Hapoel Kfar Saba, from which he was transferred to his current club – Hapoel Be'er Szeva. In this team, Melikson was appointed a captain.

Melikson was called up to Israel’s junior national teams. He played eight games in the U-19 team scoring one goal and 15 games in the U-21 team scoring two goals. Last year, he had his debut in the Israeli national team. In May 2010, he played against Uruguay.
