Małecki Wins the Sixth Match for Wisła!
Data publikacji: 18-09-2009 11:31Wisła Kraków still unbeaten! In the 6th round match, Wisła defeated the friendly Lechia Gdańsk 1:0 with the shot by Patryk Małecki.

The first half on the stadium in Gdańsk ended with 0:0 tie. Wisła could have won with at least one goal; however, inefficiency was overwhelming the team of visitors. Later, Biała Gwiazda should have been ahead of Lechia, but the players from Kraków were notorious in missing the target. Junior Diaz was the luckiest of all the team, yet he hit the crossbar after he received the free kick ball. In the latter part, the visitors had but one chance which they unhesitantly took advantage of.
After the loss of goal, Lechia launched a decisive attack and there were a number of situations which could have, and even should have, ended up with a goal. In the seventy-fifth Łukasz Surma’s kick was taken by the unguarded Piotr Wiśniewski, but Mariusz Pawełek saved the day by leaving the goal and grabbing the shot of the Lechia player. Yet, the hosts would not give up. On several occasions nearly the entire team from Gdańsk was on the Wisła’s half of the turf. The charges of Tomasz Kafarski created dangerous situations for themselves lacking cold blood in the vicinity of Biała Gwiazda’s goal. In the eighty-fourth Maciej Kowalczyk took a very well aimed kick into the penalty area of Wisła. Should he take the ball properly, he would only have Mariusz Pawełek in front of him and a great chance of equalizing. Yet, the ball bounced off a few metres away from him and the opportunity was lost. Until the end of the match, the Wisła players did not make any more mistakes and left Gdańsk with three additional points!
