Wisła performed poorly in the first half. Lead by the coach, Henryk Kasperczak, Wisła footballers failed to pass the ball well enough and were losing it too easily. Still at risk of being relegated to the second league, Korona took advantage of Wisła’s weaknesses and scores the victorious goal 9 minutes after kick-off. Maliszewski made a pass to Kiełb, and Juszczyk failed to stop the ball from entering the goal. Just a moment earlier, Juszczyk missed the ball and Maliczewski wasted a golden opportunity by sending the ball straight to Piotr Brożek. Former Wisła player and the current captain of Korona, Nikola Mijailović was close to scoring the second goal. After hitting the woodwork, the ball fell on the goal line and retreated back.
After the break, Wisła set out to make up for the lost goal. Korona tended to stick to their part of the pitch in a position to counterattack. The guest team effectively focused on the defence. Korona’s goalkeeper, Zbigniew Małkowski made some excellent saves after shots by Sobolewski and Łobodziński. Głowacki shot against the post in the 64th minute.
Wisła is still ranked 1st in the Ekstraklasa, but to remain the leader, it cannot allow for more lost points this season.
