Kirm’s goal was not enough
Data publikacji: 19-09-2011 13:31Wisła began their adventure in the Europa League with a defeat. In their first group game, they lost 1-3 against Odense BK. The only goal for Wisła was scored by Andraž Kirm.

The Danish team began boldly. As early as in the 10th minute, Utaka could have scored their first goal but he missed the ball several meters from the goal. Eventually, Wisła woke up after several minutes. In the 27th minute, Kirm found himself one-on-one with Wessels but he did not manage to send the ball over the goalkeeper. The White Star made a lot of mistakes in the defence and Odense took advantage of one of them in the 35th minute. After a kick-out by Sobolewski, the ball hit Nunez and then reached Johansson who placed it into the net with a low shot.
In the second half of the game, Wisła began to play more courageously. In the 54th minute, they sealed their good performance with a goal. Biton played the ball to Kirm who defeated Wessel with a low shot. After the goal, the game turned into an exchange of punches. Odense and Wisła launched their attacks alternately. It was the Danish team that created more dangerous situations and managed to convert one of them into a goal in the 80th minute. It seems, however, that the referee should have blown for a foul on Pareiko. The ball reached Utaka who was not covered by anyone and managed to place the ball into the net. Another mistake, this time made by Wisła instead of the referee, occurred after 92 minutes of the game. When Chavez lost the ball in Wisła penalty area, it was taken over by Fall who scored the third goal for his team with a powerful shot.
