Frederiksen was born on 20 June 1982. For the past three years he played for Brondby IF. Before that, he was a player of FC Midtjylland, Herfolge BK, Randers FC, as well as Danish national youth teams.

Frederiksen has already spent a week practicing with White Star players during the training camp in Slovenia. Jan joined the team on 24 July and attended training sessions for the remainder of the camp. The Danish player appeared in two sparring matches: the unfinished match with Fenerbahce and the game against Hannover 96. In the second game, he played for 85 minutes.

"When my contract in Denmark expired, I started looking for a new club and new home. I came to Kraków to play football, so this will be my home. Together with my girlfriend and our little daughter, we're looking forward to finding a flat, settling in and getting to know Kraków” – said the Danish player after signing the contract.

In Wisła, Jan will be playing with number 55. "In my previous clubs in Denmark, my number was 5, but that number is already taken by Maor Melikson. On the other hand, my lucky number is 10, so I decided I could get two fives that add up to my lucky 10. That's why I chose 55" – said Jan about his new number.
