Eintracht better than Wisła
Data publikacji: 20-01-2012 16:05In their first match in 2012, Wisła Kraków played against Eintracht Braunschweig. The White Star was forced to acknowledge their opponent’s superiority, losing 0-2 after goals scored by Dogan and Fuchs.

In line with announcements made before the game, Kazimierz Moskal divided his team into two elevens, each of which played for 45 minutes. The only player to stay throughout the whole game was Sergei Pareiko. After a rainy training on Tuesday, Milan Jovanić got a cold and despite spending the entire morning in bed in order to get better for the sparring game, he did not get well enough to leave the hotel.
The game concentrated mainly in the middle of the field. Wisła had their periods of long ball possession but were unable to create good opportunities to score. There was a lot of inaccuracy in passes between the White Star players, understandable at this stage of preparations. After such a heavy training period as they had, it comes at no surprise that not everything went as it should have.
Eintracht scored both their goals after set pieces. First in the 24th minute, Dogan captured the ball after a corner kick and put it into the net from several meters. In the second half, Fuchs scored his goal when executing a free kick. Standing 20 meters away, he kicked the ball straight on the goal over the wall of defenders and under the cross bar.
