Coach Kasperczak in his debut as the trainer of the Polish Champions changed the positions of the players. Piotr Brożek has been moved to the left halfback and Junior Diaz was moved to the defence.

Neither of the teams had a significant advantage in the first half with Wisła being slightly closer to a win. The best opportunity was in 27. minute of the meeting when Georgi Hristov took the ball over from Łukasz Surma and passed it to Piotr Brożek. However, the strike was defended by Kapsa. Paweł Brożek's rebound shot was immediately blocked. Also, an attempt at head shot by Jirsak failed.

Lechia made bold attempts at attacking the goal of their opponents, yet did not manage to create a perfect opportunity. Tomasz Dawidowski was noticeable as the host attacker trying to encourage his colleagues to play in a more vivid manner. The defenders of Biała Gwiazda, especially Arkadiusz Głowacki, who was covering his e- Wisła club colleague did good job. Unfortunately for Wisła, in the rematch, it will have to do without Głowacki and Marcelo, who will pause in connection with the yellow cards.

The latter part of the match was not significantly different. Lechia tested its skills in the counter attacks, yet lacked proper finishing of the actions. The game was often on the Lechia half but Wisła players continued to be ineffective in their efforts. The rematch in Kraków on 23 March will decide who will advance to the semi-finals.
