Maciej Skorża, the trainer, surprised everyone, placing Paweł Brożek in the team from the beginning of the match; it was his first game since November last year. Wiśla had scored a goal against the Ukrainian champions by the10th minute. Andraż Kirm exploited the move of Rafał Boguski from the back line of the penalty area and put the ball in the net from close range. The rivals replied with two goals within the space of two minutes. First at the 26th minute Szewczenko received the ball at three metres from Ninkovic and defeated Mariusz Pawełek. One hundred and two seconds later “Szewa” contributed to the goal of Jarmolenko. Ten minutes before the end of the first half Wisła equalised thanks to the goal of Paweł Brożek. The new White Star player Issa Ba played the ball back to him in the Dynamo penalty area. “Brozio” hit Szowkowski first, but the Ukrainian goalkeeper was helpless against the rebound from the Wisła forward.

In the second half of the game Dynamo speeded up the game, trying to score from the beginning. The result was achieved in the 70th minute, when Szewczenko scored his second goal in the game. Earlier Mariusz Pawełek performed excellently several times, including keeping out Yussuf’s headed shot from just a few metres.
