From the very beginning of the match, Wisła forced the already defensive Zagłębie to defend themselves. The hosts' problem was that they were unable to work out advantageous goal situations. A dangerous situation occurred only after Paweł Brożek initiated an action and after the shots by Łukasz Garguła. The first opportunity was after „Guła's” was shakily returned by Isailović, and the second when Wisła's halfback badly finished a nice action by Cikosa.

Not much changed in the game after the break. Wisła players continued to be the attacking party yet were unable to turn the advantage they had into a goal. Moreover, their attempts did not result in any goalmouth situations and Isailović, although forced to stay focused at all times, did not have many chances to present his skills. After over 80 minutes, there was little hope for any goal in the Sunday confrontation. Wisła team, as in the match with Cracovia used their best efforts until the end of the game. The action which determined the result in favour of Maaskant's charges was initiated in the 88th minute. Csaba Horvath, a Slovakian stopper, made a mistake while crossing the ball. It was taken over by Kirm who made a spicy shot from the penalty field. Isailović had no chance to defend it. With Kirm's goal Wisła achieved a little victory in the match and a promotion to the second place in the table.
