A triumph in Poznań!
Data publikacji: 12-09-2011 17:40Wisła celebrated Lech Poznań’s return to its stadium at Bułgarska Street with a victory. Robert Maaskant’s team won 1-0 against Lech with a goal scored by Dudu Biton.

It was Lech that demonstrated better football in the first quarter of the match, launching several impressive and dangerous attacks. However, after 15 minutes, Wisła eventually woke up to stage their show. Lech’s performance in the first half could have as well led to 0-4. It was only owing to Wisła’s ineffectiveness that Lech lost only one goal. In the 20th minute, a centre by Dragan Paljić into Lech penalty area reached Kirm who hit the crossbar with the ball. It was Dudu Biton who managed to put it into the net with his follow-up header.
After the half-time break Wisła continued to play their own game but remained inefficient. Some of their pieces of play humiliated their opponents but Wisła failed to finish them with another goal. It was a pleasure to watch exchanges of passes between Ivica Iliev and Maor Melikson, leaving Lech defence helpless. After two such passes, the Serbian winger was about to score but the goalkeeper managed to send the ball out for a corner kick in both cases.
Despite better performance in the final minutes of the match, Lech was unable to take advantage of individual attacks launched by Rudnevs, Tonev and Murawski. It was Wisła that did well as a team throughout almost the entire game and they deservedly collected three points in Poznań.
