Wisła received a good lesson from the German Hannover 96 one week before the European League match with FC Siauliai. The White Star lost with the German league team 2:4.

The first half of the match was played in a somewhat slow tempo. However, when the Hanover players sent a fast perpendicular ball, it usually caused a lot of problems with Wisła’s defence, which were changed into goals by Jan Schlaudraff. This player scored two goals in the game. Both – of course – after the perpendicular plays by his teammates.
Wisła played better in the second half, but it stared off on the wrong foot, by losing a goal. Hanke, who once again stood right before Jovanic, did not risk a one on one with the goalie this time, but he passed the ball to  Stoppelkamp, who calmly shot the ball into the empty goal from a few metres away. It was with this high leading of the opponent that Wisła really got into the game. In the 65th minute, Cikos nicely let Boguski out, who won a one on one with the opponent’s defender and he scored the first goal of the day for Wisła with a shot into the long corner.

The White Star may have even had the opportunity to fight for a draw, but all its plans went up in smoke in the 76th minute, when the referee called a penalty kick for the opponent.  From the certain shot from the 11th metre by Forssell, Hanover scored its third goal. Wisła was able to cut its losses at the end of the match. Piotr Brożek changed a free kick shot into a goal.
