The 2012/2013 season inauguration started off very bad for the White Star. Already in the 2nd minute, Wisła lost a goal at its own stadium. Maciej Szmatiuk, GKS's defender, scored from a corner kick pass. The home team quickly responded with an equalizer. In the 7th minute, Ivica Iliev was tackled in GKS's penalty box and Maor Melikson scored from the resulting penalty kick. In the 26th minute, Ivica Iliev once again stormed into the rival's penalty box where he was tackled, but this time the referee did not award a penalty kick. This made the Serbian player furious, but the referee stuck with his decision and instead gave Wisła's midfielder a yellow card.

In the second half, Wisła continued to dominate the game, but was still unable to score the second goal. Finally, in added time, Wisła's efforts were rewarded when Tsvetan Genkov scored a beautiful goal from Maor Melikson's free kick pass.
