The first part of the match between Wisła and Odra left much to be desired. While both teams tried hard to score, neither of them was able to do so. Wisła had their best chance in the 5th minute of the match. Rafał Boguski crossed the ball from the right side of the pitch straight onto Paweł Brożek’s head, but the Wisła striker’s shot from a few meters landed right into Adam Stachowiak’s arms. The guests from Wodzisław mainly tried to break up Wisła’s offensive plays, but it was they who created the best play of the first half of the match. In the 44th minute Maciej Małkowski outplayed Peter Singlar on the right flank and passed the ball back to Tomasz Moskala, who, standing just a few meters away from Mariusz Pawełek’s goal, was nonetheless unable to send the ball into the net.

The fans gathered at the stadium at 22 Reymonta Street finally got to see some goals in the second half of the match. The ball landed in Stachowiak’s net as early as the 47th minute, but the referee called offside on the scorer – Rafał Boguski. In spite of this, five minutes later the Wisła midfielder once again added his name to the list of scorers, this time by scoring an officially recognized goal. Paweł Brożek chalked up the assist.

Ten minutes later it was already 2:0 for Wisła. Tomas Jirsak executed a corner kick cross into the penalty area onto the head of Marek Zieńczuk, who had been substituted in a minute earlier, and who subsequently relayed the ball on to Boguski, who directed the ball into Stachowiak’s goal with a header. Wisła was up 2:0, but instead of letting up the pace, the team just kept on pushing for more goals. In the 68th minute of the match Marek Zieńczuk’s shot flew just a few centimeters past the right goal post. A few moments later Patryk Małecki tried his luck, but his shot was likewise minimally off-target. Odra responded with shots from Piotr Gierczak and Maciej Korzym, but the final word belonged to…Rafał Boguski. Two goals were not enough for Wisła’s midfielder so…he scored a third. Following a pass from Marek Zieńczuk in the 77th minute of the match, Boguski added his name to the list of scorers for the third consecutive time, thereby completing a classic hat-trick.

Coach Ryszard Wieczorek’s players nevertheless finally managed to defeat Mariusz Pawełek. In the 82nd minute of the match Damian Seweryn found himself in a one-on-one situation against Wisła’s goalkeeper and confidently placed the ball in the net. The White Star’s players, however, kept on playing as if they hadn’t just lost a goal. Stachowiak was kept busy between the goal posts and was forced to save shots from Zieńczuk and Małecki. Four minutes before the end of the match Paweł Brożek failed to take advantage of an excellent pass from Małecki when, standing just a few meters in front of Stachowiak, the Wisła striker sent the ball into the stands.
