In the first half, Piast Gliwice fired off only two shots towards the goal defended by Mariusz Pawełek, and took a 1:0 lead. In the 23rd minute, Kamil Wilczek put the ball in the back of the net after some commotion in the penalty area. A few minutes earlier, Wojciech Łobodziński hit the woodwork and the ball did not cross the goal line. Paweł Brożek and Radosław Sobolewski tried to deliver the final blow, but Grzegorz Kasprzik pulled off a great save.
In the first 45 minutes of the match, the White Star lost also Marcin Baszczyński, who sustained a knee injury in the 25th minute.
The host team players were still dangerous on the counter-attack, yet failed to send the ball towards the goal defended by Mariusz Pawełek. The Cracovians prevailed but lacked mastery and cold blood in front of the goalkeeper, Grzegorz Kasprzik.
In the second half, Wojciech Łobodziński was substituted with Patryk Małecki, whose play enlivened the Wisła team. The guest team shot an equalizer as late as in the 73rd minute, when Patryk Małecki defeated Grzegorz Kasprzik with a powerful long shot.
From this moment, the White Star players pressed hard but failed to score the victorious goal. Grzegorz Kasprzik was doing his best and defended several excellent shots on goal.
