Coach Maciej Skorża fielded a lineup consisting mostly of reserve players. Łukasz Burliga played alongside Marcelo on center defense during the first half of the match, whilst Łobodziński and Zieńczuk were accompanied on midfield by Piotr Ćwielong and Konrad Gołoś, for whom this was the first match in several months. On offense, coach Skorża put his faith in the duet Boguski – Małecki, which turned out to be a bullseye.
Wisła struggled long and hard against Brasov, taking the lead only towards the end of the first half following a play by Rafał Boguski and Patryk Małecki. The latter found himself in a one-on-one situation against FC Brasov’s goalie, and didn’t fail to take advantage of the opportunity.
The Romanians had their best chance at scoring in the 30th minute, but Mariusz Pawełek defended Cristescu’s shot.
The second half of the match brought no further goals. The Romanian team tried to even the score in the last minutes, with the situation becaming tense on the pitch. Piotr Brożek was penalized with a red card, yet despite their advantage, the Romanian players were unable to score.
Wisła’s former coach, Dan Petrescu, observed the match from the stands.
Wisła end their training camp in Oliva with a victory. On Friday the team returns to Kraków, where they will spend the upcoming week.
