Żurawski returns

Five years since leaving the club, Maciej Żurawski returns to Wisła! On Monday morning, the striker attended medical tests and joined the team in the training session in Barsinghausen. He will wear number 79 next season.

In the period 1999 to 2005, played 217 matches for Wisła, including 153 matches in the Polish league. Maciej scored 143 goals, including 101 goals in league matches. He was named the top scorer twice. With Maciej on board, Wisła Kraków won four Polish League Championships, the Polish Cup and the Polish League Cup.

Żurawski left Wisła to join Celtic Glasgow, where he spent two years, winning Scotland League Championship twice, the Scottish League Cup and Scottish League Cup. “Żuraw” spent another one and a half year in Larissa in Greece, and the last season – in Omonoia Nicosia, where he won the Cyprus League Championship.

Żurawski is also a former national team player. He played 72 times in the Polish national team, and scored 17 goals for Poland. He played at the World Cup and Euro tournaments.


„My life has come a full circle, I return to the club where I achieved most. I am very happy I will be able to support my team in the season to come. I can offer my experience to inspire other team mates for another successful season” – said the new White Star team member.
