The Young Wisła players finished second in the play offs. They were just one point shy of repeating the success from last year and winning the Championship.

Coach Kulawik's players beat Śląsk Wrocław 1:0 in the last game of the season after Sebastian Janik’s goal. This, however, was not enough for them to win the championship because the leader prior to the last round, Ruch Chorzów, drew a 2:2 tie against Legia Warszawa, which helped them secure the top spot in the Young Ekstraklasa.

Winning second place can be considered a success for Young Wisła for at least two reasons. “First of all, at a certain point we were thirteen points behind the leader, but the guys never gave up, they fought until the finish line. I praise them for that.” says coach Kulawik. Second of all, among all the teams who placed top three last year, only Wisła managed to place again.

Young Wisła had one of the youngest teams in the league. Even though they lost a lot of players who contributed to last year’s victory, they placed very high in the charts. We congratulate the players and the coaching crew for this achievement.
