Wisła Without Mercy
Published: 18-04-2011 19:31Wisła collect their victories at home and head for the championship. In the 22nd round, Robert Maaskant’s team defeated GKS Bełchatów 3-1.

The first half of the match was for Wisła, who were not able to prove it with the result. Genkov wasted two excellent opportunities and Melikson failed in a one-to-one situation. After the side-swap, Wisła finally managed to go through the defence line of their opponents. Executing a free kick from the left side, Tomáš Jirsák short-passed the ball to Maor Melikson who decided to shoot from behind the penalty area. The ball passed between Sapela’s legs.
In the 49th minute, Tomasz Wróbel committed an ugly foul on Melikson. As a result, he received a red card and his teem had to carry on playing with 10 players. Wisła managed to take advantage of the situation in the 55th minute. After Melikson’s corner kick, Tsvetan Genkov scored with a headshot. The team from Bełchatów did not, however, want to give up. In the 62nd minute, Lacić scored for 2-1, shooting with his head after a corner kick.
However, 10 minutes before the end of the game, Wisła scored again. The goal resulted from another miscue from Sapela, who let the ball go out of his hands after a centre from Melikson. The ball was taken over by Cezary Wilk, who managed to put it into the net.
