Heavily modified White Star team, after a few line-up changes since the previous game, with ferocity began to compete for a spot in the Polish Cup quarter-finals. Wisła first tried to surprise the opponent by constructing an action along the left touch-line, then, in turn, after the extremely far throw-in cast by Fryc, the ball went into Lechia’s penalty field, but the efforts of White Star strikers were thwarted by the goalkeeper from northern Poland. Several seconds later, Bąk tried to surprise Sarki by striking towards the guests’ goal, but the midfielder from Wawel missed slightly.

In the 8th minute, Chrapek received a very good play on the 15th meter, but Smuda’s player missed the ball, wasting an opportune situation. Moments later, Nalepa  decided on a long shot, missing slightly.

In the 18th minute Brożek sent a pass toward Sarki coming out of the right side of the pitch, but the play by Nigerian midfielder left much to be desired. One hundred and twenty seconds later, action centered around Sarki again, but this time Kostrzewa was faster than the home team.

In the 22nd minute, first corner kick was earned by players from the North, but a cross by Deleu did not create any problems for Miśkiewicz. Four minutes later Brożek was illegally stopped by Kostrzewa just before the penalty area, and the free kick by Stjepanović was  steadily received by Bąk.

Situation in front of the Wisła goal became dangerous in the 30th minute, after a pass from Pietrowski, but Jovanović kicked the ball out just before the goal, thus fending off danger. In the 36th minute, after Kostrzewa’s foul on Brożek, Sarki went for the ball, sending it towards Lechia’s goal, but Oualembo jumped higher, overtaking Chrapek.

In the 41st minute, White Star launched a counterattack, but the pass targeted towards Sarki was taken over by the rival team, interrupting the action of coach Franciszek Smuda’s players. Two minutes later Deleu gave Miśkiewicz a scare, but the goalkeeper from Wawel had little trouble catching the ball. After a few seconds it got dangerous again in front the hosts’ goal, but after a shot by Grzelczak, the ball bounced off of Fryc and missed Wisła’s goal post by few centimeters.

After change of sides, the 48th minute saw the first dangerous action by Wisła, when after a free kick by Guerriera the ball hit the opponent’s goalpost. Nine minutes later Sarki landed in the guests’ penalty area, sending a shot on the goal, Bąk was, however, on guard.

In the 61st minute Sarki reestablished himself by going down to the midfield and striking towards Gdańsk’s goal, but Lechia’s goalkeeper coped with Wisła player’s shot. Moments later, a pass for the outgoing defense was received by Brożek, but the opponents managed to intercept the ball, preventing the Wisła player from steering it into the net.

In the 74th minute, players coached by Michał Probierz took the lead thanks to a goal scored by Buzała, who received Pazio’s headshot, which enabled him to enter one-on-one position. Four minutes later Chrapek played the ball behind Lechia defenders’ back, directing it toward Brożek, but the striker from Kraków failed to control the ball.
In the 87th minute Buzała came before another chance, after an error by the defense launched the ball towards the Northern striker, but Burliga intervened, intercepting the ball from Lechia’s player. A moment later, Buzała decided on a long shot again, but his shot was very wide.
