Widzew Łódź, the team which has recently beaten the leaders of the league table, Jagiellonia Białystok, arrived in Krakow to win the ticket to the Polish Football Cup quarterfinals. However, it was Wisła who grabbed the win despite the absence of Radosław Sobolewski and Paweł Brożek. The decisive goal was scored by Maciej Żurawski.

The first half was uneventful. The White Star ruled on the field, but Widzew defense was very strong and stable and Wisła strikers weren’t allowed to play their game.

The second half was much more eventful. In the 52nd minute, Marcin Robak hit Cleber on the face with his elbow. The referee showed two yellow cards: to Marcin Robak and Boukhari.

In the 63rd minute, Wisła has an excellent occasion but Rios missed his header. Ten minutes later, Sernas had a near-miss. In the 77th minute, Kaniecki made an excellent save after a long shot by Małecki. A minute later, Kaniecki cleared off another one by Kirm, and a follow-up shot hit the post.

4 minutes before the final whistle, Widzew goalkeeper made a terrible mistake. Żurawski made a long shot from a 16 m distance; the ball deflected from Bieniuk and crossed the goal line between Kaniecki hands.

Both teams finished the game in 10 men. In the 78th minute, Dudu saw a red card for hitting Boukhari on the back. The referee decided he was provoked, and Boukhari was awarded his second yellow card this evening.
