From the very start of the game, it was obvious that the White Star is in great form before the season. Wisła's quick and creative offensive passes gave Piast's defence a real headache. Wisła players proved numerous times that they are able to create plays by exchanging one-touch passes or lobbing the ball over to the far wing. This resulted in three goals already in the first half. In the 20th minute, Iliev fooled two rivals just outside the penalty box, and passed to Garguła who slotted the ball in. The next two goals were a result of Wisła's pressing on the rival's side. In the 35th minute, Burliga intercepted the ball and scored. Eight minutes later, Genkov took the ball away from the rivals and Melikson scored from Iliev's pass.

The second half was considerably less spectacular than the first one. Wisła calmly exercised control over the game and was less eager to attack. Piast, on the other hand, had a very difficult time with Wisła's defence, even though the team's offensive improved when Jurado appeared on the pitch. It was this player who scored the only goal for T-Mobile Ekstraklasa's dark horse, after a corner kick in the 77th minute.
