During the entire match, the German team had more goalscoring opportunities, but managed to defeat Wisła's goalkeeper only once. In the 13th minute, Szabolcs Huszti was one-on-one with Pareiko, but wasted his chance to raise the score. In the 30th minute, however, Wisła's goalkeeper was defeated by Huszti from close range. In the 40th minute, Germany could have raised the advantage to 2:0, but Abdellaoue's shot hit the post. Seven minutes later, Hannover's attempt was, once again, foiled by the post. Artur Sobiech, who was sent in after halftime, got the ball in Wisła's penalty box but his shot hit the woodwork.

Wisła had some nice plays as well, but none of them ended with a goal. In the 9th minute, Maor Melikson shot from long distance but Zieler managed to make a save. After Hannover's goal, Wisła desperately fought for an equalizer, which they managed in the 90th minute, however, not from a normal play. Ivica Iliev was tackled inside Hannover's penalty box and Tsvetan Genkov took the penalty kick. In added time, Wisła could have scored again. After Michał Chrapek's cross in from a free kick, Arkadiusz Głowacki ran into the opposing goalkeeper inside the penalty box. Genkov got the ball but sent it wide of the post.
