Despite being the dominant side for the first 15 minutes of the game, the White Star was unable to break through Volyn's defence line. The next minutes consisted of both sides fighting for possession in midfield and attempting to create scoring chances.

The second half had a bad start for the team from Kraków who lost a goal just 2 minutes in. Owonikoko, who had just joined the game, took advantage of the commotion inside Wisła's penalty box. During the next several minutes, Wisła attempted to equalise. Kosowski and Sikorski both tried to change the score but were unable to threaten the rival's goal. Twelve minutes before the final whistle, Genkov could have scored, but was unable to reach Kosowski's pass. Moments later, Boguski's shot just barely missed.

The final moments of the game belonged to Wisła. Chavez managed to score in the 87th minute, but was denied the goal by the referee. Two minutes before the whistle, Boguski made a superb pass to Genkov, who beat the defence to the ball and scored.
