Wisła conquered Korona at Kolporter Arena! Korona 0-3 Wisła

In this round of Lotto Ekstraklasa, Wisła Kraków ended a run of six games without a win in the capital of the region of Świętokrzyskie. The White Star waited for the right moments to create counter attacks and didn’t hesitate to take the chances they had. The match ended in a 3-0 victory for Wisła, with two goals from Carlitos and one from Imáz.

A lob goal to begin the match

The host team didn’t give a warm welcome to Wisła’s players and from the very beginning started to attack but the guests, that concentrated their efforts on creating counter-attacks, turned out to be more effective. Zoran Arsenić passed the ball to Carlitos whose lob got over the goalkeeper and crossed the goal line.

During the next minutes, Korona tried to answer with equal force but Julián Cuesta and the defenders saved Wisła from conceding a goal. Instead, one more time it was Carlitos that put the ball into the net but this time, the linesman called offside.

Second half

A few moments later Korona celebrated a goal but their joy was premature as the referee once again called offside. Wisła had to wait for another good chance almost till the half-time whistle but that chance was turned into a goal by Imáz, that had got a well-timed pass from Llonch.

After the break, the first team to start attacking was one more time Korona that, however, in spite of quite a lot of corner kicks, didn’t have any shot on target. Wisła adopted the same tactics as in the first half and waited for their chances. First, Jesús Imáz was close to score but the whole action didn’t end up as expected by the players from Cracow. However, Wisła fans didn’t have to wait long to see another attempt on goal, this time the successful one, since Carlos López took hands into his own hands stealing the ball and killing the match with his second goal.

Once again with the shield

Having conceded three goals, Korona spoiled for a fight, whereas Wisła kept working tirelessly. The occasion came in the last moment when Carlitos tried to defeat the goalkeeper with another lob. If the ball had found its way to the net, that might be the goal of the season!

After 5 years, Wisła finally manage to win at the stadium in Kielce. Due to this victory, the White Star occupies the sixth position in the league.
