"Thank you for the fact that we can always count on you. I know that for most of you Wisła is practically your whole life. This was a breakthrough year. The White Star came back onto the shirts by our joint decision and from that moment something good was started and continues. Remember, however, to come to the stadium even at a time when the team stumbles. Wisła means more than a score, it is our entire lives. So today, I would like to say that I am proud of the players who are here with us. We believe in you, you cannot let us down! The life of each of us, also means family, which is why we should always remember our loved ones"- said Jacek Bednarz, president of the Kraków club, in his starting speech.

Host of the gala, spokesman - Adrian Ochalik, did not want to stay keep the participants, eagerly awaiting the outcome of the poll, waiting too long. After the presentation of specially prepared video footage, showing how the 2013 years was for the Reymonta team and her fans, the results were announced. Decisions were made in eight categories.

- DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR - Michał Miśkiewicz

- BEST GAME OF 2013 – Wisła Kraków – Lech Poznań 2:0 (25.08.2013)

- HUNK OF THE YEAR - Michał Chrapek

- GOAL OF THE YEAR - Emmanuel Sarki, 2:1 in the match with VfL Wolfsburg (13.10.2013)

- WORST GAME OF 2013 – Jagiellonia Białystok – Wisła Kraków 5:2 (2.12.2013)

- PLAYER OF THE YEAR - Arkadiusz Głowacki

- DISPLAY OF THE YEAR – Wisła Kraków – Legia Warszawa (06.10.2013)

 

Furthermore Special White Star 2013 was awarded to two people: Szymon Czepiec - TS Wisła basketball captain, and Jaś Gwiazda - young fan, who suffered an accident on his way to a Wisła game. "It's a real miracle, which is why I would like to thank you all for being with us and supporting us. Thank you very much"- said the mother of Jaś, who was too overcome with emotions to say anything himself.

 

"This is an amazing surprise for me. Especially since Arek Głowacki calls me “ugly” every single day. Thank you for all the votes. Merry Christmas"- said Michał Chrapek with a smile on his face.

 

After receiving his award Arkadiusz Głowacki said: "I wanted to rectify something: I call Michał “fat”. The applause is owed to the whole team. At the moment, we are not the best in Europe or in the league. However, together we are a team that is willing do anything for Wisła."

 

The award ceremony was not the only highlight of the evening. Equally important, if not more so, was a special auction for the youngest fans of the White Star from an orphanage in Sieborowice, in which you could bid for a dinner with the chosen player of the Wisła and official ball of the World Cup in Brazil – Brazuka, autographed by the players of the Kraków team, among many others.

 

”When it comes to the children's home, no amount of money can buy them what they deserve to have. However, we think that it is worth to help, even in such a small way"- said the team leader, Jarosław Krzoska, who purchased the match attire, then handed it to the Director of the institution. Instead of dinner, the players will visit the hospital in Prokocim, upon request of the person who won the auction.

 

Friday's gala at Reymonta proceeded in a festive atmosphere and the invited guests, sponsors and friends of the White Star all contributed to the unique spirit of this meeting.
