Wisła players began the match relaxed with Legia trying to take advantage of the situation but without success. The second part of the first half was more balanced. Wisła players started to create opportunities to shoot on the goal guarded by Wojciech Skaba. The 21st minute saw a beautiful action by a trio of Małecki, Melikson and Genkov, with Genkov being eventually stopped by Jakub Wawrzyniak. Wisła had the best opportunity to score in the 39th minute when after a free-kick centre from Małecki, the ball was captured by Genkov who kicked it straight at Skaba.
The end of the first half turned out to be decisive for the match. The referee decided that Pareiko fouled Radović in the penalty area and showed him the red card. Cabral was the one to score the penalty.

Playing without one player in the second half, Wisła concentrated on defence. Legia could not, however, grasp their chance. Michał Kucharczyk alone had three excellent opportunities to increase their lead. Despite their attempts, Legia did not manage to score. Only after 90 minutes, Milan Jovanić surrendered a goal after a shot by Szałachowski.
