Wdowczyk: Wins are the most important
Published: 03-10-2016 11:16Wisła is on a winning path again. The team got 4 points in the last two games, although they were playing with the runners-up from a last season. They also won in a Polish Cup, where they beat Chojniczanka Chojnice after Rafał Boguski and Krzysztof Mączyński scored. “ I would like to believe, that we will remain on a winning path. Of course there were quite a few faults in our game, but it is important that we win. I conclude that our condition is raising up. We still occupy the last place in a league, but I think, that every single point raises our morale and builds up the players confidence. I can see that everyone wants to rebound. I am optimistic when I look into the future” –Dariusz Wdowczyk summed up recent weeks.
„Surely it is a huge problem when players cannot maintain the highest level of playing. Most of my team was playing worse than I could expect – other than in a match against Legia, where we created a lot of scoring opportunities, we only had a problem with scoring a goal”. A lot of injuries is another pain in the neck. We are 100% sure Paweł Brożek will not be able to play in Plock against Wisła. “I am sorry Paweł is not 100% fit, I know how much he means to a team, and how our opponents react when he is on the pitch. I’ counting on him and his goals. He is an important link in my team” – argues Dariusz Wdowczyk. The last time, Brożek and Ondrasek were together in a starting line-up it was at the end of past season and we all remember how good they were playing together.
I have no headache
Now it is a time for an away game against Wisła Płock which is playing better than anyone could expect, while Wisła Kraków has lost all of the away matches so far (excluding Polish Cup matches), but Coach and his assistants are convinced that their team will break loosing streak.” Wisła Płock is a dangerous team and they can hurt us if we won’t be aware. We have to stay focused for a whole match, because everyone can win with everyone in this league. Everything depends of a players attitude on the match day. Wisła Płock is a team who knows what to do with the ball – their defenders can support offensive actions, there are couple of technique players like Kante, Kriwiec or Kun, who I know from my time in Pogoń Szczecin. They know how to make a scoring opportunity from a free kick or corner kick. We all know how Dominik Furman and how such a good player he is. But I have no headache when I think about the match. I already have a plan for the game and who is going to play in a starting line-up” – assures Dariusz Ddowczyk.
Many people were complaining about Denis Popovic after the last game against Legia Warsaw, when he could lead our team to a win but he wasted a penalty. But our coach points out that Slovenian player was one of the best players in that game. “He was our team leader in a match agains Legia. I have never seen him playing that good before. He was great in destruction and showed a lot of creativity on offensive”- said Dariusz Wdowczyk.
