Three points for Górnik
Published: 21-11-2011 10:01In a duel between former White Star players, it was Nawałka who came out victorious after Górnik won over Wisła 1:0.

The away team began with strong pressure, hoping for the White Star to make mistakes. This strategy could have paid off as early as in the 3rd minute of the match. Nakoulma found himself in a one-on-one situation with Pareiko, but his shot went off-target. Nakoulma could have scored in the 39th minute too but again he missed the goal with his header. Three minutes later, Olkowski wasted a good opportunity, directing the ball towards the centre of the goal.
Wisła had several opportunities too but their attempts were not as clear as those made by their opponents. In the 14th minute, Iliev made a powerful attempt from 16 meters but Skorupski managed to knock the ball away. In the extra time of the first half, Pazdan marked Biton just on time to block his attempt.
In the second half, the roles reversed. Wisła began to play better, more offensive and more appealing football, whereas Górnik lost their ability to launch dangerous attacks. Despite their advantage, Kazimierz Moskal’s team could not defeat Skorupski with attempts made by Boguski, Jirsak, Iliev and Biton. The White Star’s ineffectiveness backfired on them when Górnik managed to score an easy goal in the 87th minute. Taking over the ball, Nakoulma played it towards the far post where it was caught by Michał Jonczyk who put the ball into the net. Wisła was unable to score an equalizer and lost three points against the team from Zabrze.
