After the first half, the home team had a well-earned, yet small one goal lead. This could have been even greater had Tomasz Kulawik's side taken advantage of the other scoring chances. In the 15th minute, Burliga slightly overshot after a pass from Iliev, sending the ball from outside the box just beside the post. Four minutes later, Boguski defeated Pernis with a strike from several metres but the referee called offside. As it turns out, Marciniak made the wrong decision since Boguski got the ball from the opposite team. This setback, however, had no effect on the home team's determination to win. In the 36th minute, Sobolewski stormed into the penalty box from the right side and made a powerful shot. To the cheers of Wisła's supporters, the ball went in off the post.

Though the odds evened out slightly after halftime, the team from Kraków held on to its lead and even managed to increase the advantage. In the 82nd minute, after a pass from Małecki, Genkov raised the score to 2:0.
