Stolarczyk: Transform the attitude into results

Published: 27-07-2018 14:00

On Friday, for the first time, Wisła is going to play against Miedź Legnica in the top division. Last week, the team from Cracow drew 0-0 at home to Arka Gdynia, although the players did a good job. One day before the second match, the journalists had an opportunity of asking a few questions to the Wisła coach during the pre-match press conference held at the stadium.

That’s what the coach said in the pre-match press conference:

on the last game…
There were many things I was satisfied with, but still the key conclusion is that we didn’t get the three points. After what we showed on the pitch last time, it is important that our attitude translate into the result.

on the plan for the next game…
Even though it’s their first season in the top division, the Miedź coach has many experienced players on the bench. They know the character of the league, however, we have our plan for this game. Recently, we have focused on improving the last touch that missed in the match with Arka. Also, according to the plan we have, we have tried to spread the responsibility for scoring and defending on all the players.

on penalty kicks…
After a long discussion, I picked the players that are going to do penalty kicks but, of course, I am not going to say their names aloud not to help our rivals. I would like to emphasize that it was me who chose the players and they know how to do it. It doesn’t always work but when it comes to penalty kicks you can never be 100% sure.

on the line-up…
We select the players basing on the work they do on trainings and on tests results performed on regular basis. However, our bench is not that deep that we could reveal everything. Everyone apart from those who are injured, are ready to play. It’s important for me that the team is formed with players that care about Wisła and want to be here. We’re analysing our possibilities and, taking this into account, we’re observing the market in order to strengthen the rivalry between the players and improve their skills.

on the injured players…
We’re the most optimistic about the situation of Zoran Arsenić and Mateusz Lis that soon should come back to train with the team. Two other injured players, Matej Palčič and Tibor Halilović still neeed some time. It’s not a secret that I count on Zoran and Mateusz in the context of the next week.
