Stolarczyk: It wasn’t an easy victory

In the matchweek 2 of Ekstraklasa, Wisła Kraków won against Miedź Legnica. This victory was the first official victory of Maciej Stolarczyk as Wisła coach.

That’s what the coach said during the post-match press conference:

On the match…
“We’re very happy and the three points were our aim in this match. However, we have to admit that this victory wasn’t easy. The last intervention of Michał Buchalik saved the result. We could have seen quite many interesting fragments of the game and that’s what makes us happy because Miedź was a well-organised team.

On the team…
Miedź was a difficult rival and I am happy that we kept these three points, though having conceded a goal, we lost some of our self-confidence. We had some physical problems during the week - Wasyl joined the trainings with the team in the middle of the week. He has played today and I’d like to thank him for this and also a big thanks to the medical staff for putting him back on track.

On the debutant…
Patryk Plewka deserved to enter the pitch with the work he had made during the pre-season and on every training. I’d like to thank our supporters for helping and cheering for the team, including Patryk. I think it was a good moment for him to play for the first time in Ekstraklasa.

On the second half…
We had some problems with the organization of the game in the centre of the field since we wanted to take back the ball quickly. When the team became tired, it didn’t look good anymore and, in consequence, we decided to make some changes.

On young players and transfers…
We have Kamil Wojtkowski and Patryk Plewka, soon we’ll have Tibor Halilović back, so we have possibilities regarding the midfield. There is also Kacper Laskoś, that can play as a defensive midfielder as well as a halfback, or Maciek Śliwa. I count on all these players. When it comes to transfers, we’re looking for new players to improve the level of rivalry inside the team. It would be good to have two players for each position. Still, I am happy with what I saw today on the pitch.
