Śląsk stopped!
Published: 28-11-2011 11:04The White Star do not lay down their arms and fight for return to top positions of the league standings. In the highlight of the 15th round, Wisła won over Śląsk Wrocław 1-0 after a goal scored by Rafał Boguski, thus breaking the series of lost games.

In the match against the league leader, Wisła did not look like a team troubled by anything. The first 30 minutes saw the White Star’s domination. In the 9th minute, Nunez decided to take a shot from the left side of the penalty area, but the ball missed the goal guarded by Kelemen by several centimetres. In the following minutes, Kelemen had several excellent interventions, saving really dangerous attempts by Jirsak and Iliev. In the 22nd minute, Genkov was close to defeating the goalkeeper in a fairly coincidental situation.
The game became less one-sided after some 30 minutes. Then, Śląsk started to launch attacks. In the 35th minute, Sobota made an attempt, sending the ball in the far corner of the goal. The ball, however, missed the post by several centimetres just as after the attempt made by Nunez.
Eventually, Wisła managed to put the ball into Śląsk’s goal. In the 49th minute, Nunez was fouled in the penalty area by Sobota. Executed by Boguski, the penalty gave Wisła the goal they so badly needed. Having scored, Wisła lost the initiative. As soon as after a minute later, Śląsk could have scored an equalizer but Diaz sent the ball over the crossbar, shooting from several meters. Then, Pareiko was forced to show his skills in two more situations, preventing Wisła from losing a goal and allowing them to win the game.
