Share of points at Konwiktorska Street
Published: 09-08-2011 10:20In their second league and second away match, the White Star shared their points again with their opponent. In Warsaw, Wisła played to a 1-1 draw with Polonia.

In the first half, it was Robert Maaskant’s team that was superior in ball possession, but it was the home team that managed to take advantage of their opponent’s mistake in the 24th minute and take the lead after a goal scored by Bruno. The ball lost by Cezary Wilk in Wisła’s penalty area was captured by Polonia attacker who kicked it toward the goal. On its way, the ball rebounded from Osman Chavez and went past Sergei Pareiko. Wisła made several successful attempts to create good scoring opportunities but they were grossly inefficient. Even Michael Lamey decided to use his shooting skills, and came very close indeed in the 40th minute with his attempt from around 25 meters.
Wisła scored the equalizer in the 66th minute when Małecki passed the ball to Iliev, who tricked his way past Jodłowiec and played the ball to Biton. Not very active until then, Biton headed the ball into the net. In the 84th minute, Wisła could and should have scored another goal. Tsvetan Genkov, who had come in for Biton, passed the ball to Kirm in front of the goal, but the ball kicked by Kirm hit the crossbar. In the extra time, this lack of efficiency could backfire on Wisła when Bonin found himself one-on-one with Wisła goalkeeper. Luckily, Pareiko somehow managed to block the shot.
