Quarter-finals after goals scored by Lamey
Published: 28-10-2011 09:45Wisła are through to the quarter-finals after they won against Limanovia 2-1. Both goals for the White Star were scored after set pieces by Michael Lamey. The game against Wisła was an unusual event for Limanovia supporters who had their moments of joy in the 42nd minute after a goal scored by Skiba.

Just as in their previous Polish Cup game in Świnoujście, Wisła quickly managed to take the lead. As soon as in the 12th minute, Lamey’s header turned a free kick pass from Jirsak into a goal. Wisła did not stop attacking after the goal but their attempts were grossly ineffective. Limanovia showed a great deal of ambition, looking for their opportunities mainly after set pieces or with attacks launched on the left by Waksmundzki. Eventually in the 42nd minute, they managed to score an equalizer after a beautiful free kick by Artur Skiba.
The second half began even better for Wisła. They needed only seven minutes to take the lead again. It was Tomas Jirsak again who passed the ball – this time from a corner kick – and it was Lamey again who headed the ball. After this goal, Wisła rushed to score more. Jirsak and Boguski had two excellent opportunities. In both cases, however, the ball bounced from bumps on the pitch so unexpectedly that both shots went off-target.
