From the very start of the game, the team led by Piotr Stokowiec played with confidence, taking advantage of Wisła's mistakes. The first goal for the visitors was scored in the 17th minute, when Tomasz Brzyski crossed to Łukasz Teodorczyk from the right side. Not even ten minutes later, Paweł Wszołek had an opportunity to raise the score, but his shot was blocked by Arkadiusz Głowacki. Not satisfied with only one goal, Polonia managed to score a second one before halftime. Vladimir Dvalishvili managed to score when Sergei Pareiko let go of the ball after misunderstanding Łukasz Burliga.

For the second half, Probierz decided to send in Michał Chrapek and Łukasz Garguła. Wisła's attacks intensified, resulting in an opportunity in the 53rd minute – in the commotion inside the visitors' penalty box, Tsvetan Genkov took a shot but hit the side net. Ten minutes later, the team from Kraków managed to snatch a goal when Ivica Iliev received a pass from Michał Szewczyk and defeat Mariusz Pawełek from close range. Wisła went on the offense but Polonia's counters were more effective. This resulted in a third goal for the away team, when Wszołek received a pass from Gołębiewski.
