Palcic: We should have scored the third goal in the first half

The encounter of the Lotto Ekstraklasa between Wisła Kraków and Wisła Płock ended in a draw 2-2. Matej Palcić, who once again played the whole 90 minutes, regrets that they did not manage to take the three points.

‘Overall looking at the game, the draw seems the adequate result. In the first half, we had everything under control and we played really well. Then, the second half started and immediately, we lost a goal. We should have not let that happen, and though, it ended this way’ – the Slovenian defender said.

One half for a team

The White Star barely stepped on the pitch after the half-time and they immediately conceded a goal. As the 24-year-defender admits himself, the moment after conceding a goal was the most difficult moment of the match. ‘We had to modify the whole plan we had for the second half. During first 10 minutes we were broken and we couldn’t even exchange a few accurate passes. Then, both sides started to create chances and could have scored more goals, so I think a draw in such a close match is a fear result’.

‘We conceded unfortunate goals because that is how we must call an own goal and a goal after a throw-in. However, we should have scored one more goal in the first half and that would have given us a two-goal advantage’ – emphasized Maribor former player.

Now, Wisła Kraków is going to play a home match against the current champion. Every one would love to see the same result as the one achieved in Warsaw. ‘If we still want to matter this season, we have no other choice than to win against Legia. I hope it will be a breaking point and from then on, we will start going upwards . We are concentrated on the next game because it can have an influence on the plan we will have for the rest of the season’ – added Palčič.

Part of the team

The Slovenian has been in Kraków since January 23rd and he already feels an important member of the team. ‘During the last three months, I had a chance to know my teammates, their possibilities and potential. Now it is easier to be a part of the team than at the beginning, in the first league games’ – smiled the one time Slovenia international.
